Definition

Decrease in the number of circulating blood neutrophils
- Also known as granulocytopenia
May be classified by absolute neutrophil count (ANC)
- Mild neutropenia: ANC between 1000–1500/mm³
- Moderate neutropenia: ANC 500–1000/mm³
- Severe neutropenia: ANC < 500/mm³
