Definition

  • Sinus tract formed by hair beneath the skin associated with a granulation reaction and sometimes abscess formation
    • Usually presents as a midline cyst or abscess in the natal cleft overlying the lower sacrum and coccyx
    • An acquired conditional (formerly believed to be congenital)
