Acoustic Neuroma

Definition

  • Tumor that arises from Schwann cells of the vestibular portion of the eighth cranial nerve
    • More rarely, this tumor can arise from other cranial nerves including the fifth and the seventh.
  • Also known as vestibular schwannoma or acoustic schwannoma
